The studies CAC/CAD of hulls, shapes and decks are developed by the design office of Marc Lombard Design Group (MLDG). Each Privilège has been studied and modelled with the most modern performing software, used for improving hull shape resistance (prismatic) and hull drag (Computational Fluid Dynamics software) and the structural performance of the boat (Fine Element Analysis software).

The Privilège Brand forward pod
distinctive Privilège style

'The forward pod',
a Privilège signature

The distinctive Privilège style in looks and construction has existed since 1985. Owners, charter operators and guests agree that the extra volume in the pod allows for generous volume space in the forward cabins, especially for the Owner's Suite. This space can be used for full view across the boat in the Owner's Stateroom.

A fixed baby stay, to set a storm sail or staysail should bad weather set in, is a large comfort factor in rough weather when the pod leans on the wave in order to avoid deep immersion of the bows. The forward beam and seagull striker is supported on 3 points, which reinforces the whole structure at sea.

Hull construction

Privilège's catamarans meet the needs of blue water sailors to the highest degree and are individually tailored to your wishes, but all begin with the same process.

The hull consists of three parts
Privilège's catamarans

The hull consists of three parts: one middle and two side hull forms. The deck consists of a single large moulded part which is placed on top of the finished hull.

The entire hull construction takes about one month. Then the individual interior finishing of the yacht begins.

The composite build process

retractable bow thruster

The core of the hull is built directly into the mould and so  can be adapted according to the customer's wishes, such as a retractable bow thruster or a larger engine room.

individual adaptation of the yacht equipment

A maximum of reinforcements is incorporated in the deck. This allows for individual adaptation of the yacht equipment such as instruments or deck fittings.

The structure stabilises the hull during lamination

The structure stabilises the hull during lamination and assembly of the bulkheads.  The openings are designed to define the interior of the yacht and the layout.

Deck fittings, rigging and sails
PrPrivilège work very closely with the office of Marc Lombard

Deck fittings, rigging and sails

Privilège work very closely with the office of Marc Lombard and specific, faithful suppliers of over 20 years, to develop the best ergonomic and easy to use deck layouts while cruising, with no compromise on security and reliability.

Marechal mast, historic supplier of all our masts, has a second to none reputation. They accompany us in the development of each Privilège catamaran. The white lacquered aluminium profiles are optimised for the best strength/weight ratio, the weldings are flush, the fittings and additions well calculated. They also supply the fore-beam, which is so important for the main strength of the whole hull / pod / deck configuration.

Elvström sails, well known as the supplier for a large majority of racing yachts, has been a faithful partner since the first sailing of our Privilège in 1985. They use the best fabrics, take special care given with the stitching and cutting, reinforcements to clews, tack and head corners, with the thread lines. All-important details in the fabrication are addressed so that the sails will not get prematurely old under tropical conditions.
